To celebrate the International Day of People with Disabilities on December 3, LDIA was delighted to present a “Spotlight on Disabilities” evening in collaboration with DiversiCom. A non-profit organization, Diversicom shared how they provide advice to employers, connect employers to jobseekers and generally raise awareness around disability issues by sharing best practices. LDIA members were truly impressed by the testimonials of some amazing disabled individuals working in the legal profession. As the photos from the event below show, the workshops facilitated by Diversicom on sensory, intellectual and physical handicaps, gave participants an eye-opening opportunity to try to understand, first hand, the difficulties that disabled colleagues overcome daily. LDIA would like to extend its warm thanks to the Diversicom team and all those who facilitated such a positive evening.
